Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what we need to run the product and nothing more. We don't sell your data. Your syllabus and study results are yours — you can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings.

What we collect

  • Account info: email, hashed password.
  • Study data: syllabi you upload, test results, Mastery Map history, your saved Quick Study Sheets, your Memory Vault entries, your streak, your study plan.
  • AI inputs: the text of any problem, explanation, or question you submit to a Vantage AI feature (Solve, Ask, Explain It, FRQ, etc.) is sent to our AI providers (Anthropic, Google) for processing.
  • Billing: if you subscribe, Stripe holds your payment details. We never see or store card numbers.

How we use it

  • To run the features you signed up for.
  • To generate AI feedback grounded in your syllabus.
  • To enforce plan limits (so a free user can't take 1000 tests / week and rack up our AI bill).
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets).
  • We do not use your study data to train AI models. The AI providers we use have agreed in their business APIs not to train on inputs.

Who we share it with

  • Hosting / database: Vercel (web hosting), Supabase (Postgres database).
  • AI providers: Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini). They process the text you submit to AI features.
  • Billing: Stripe.
  • We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.

Local browser storage

Some features (Memory Vault, streak, saved Study Sheets, the Mastery Map cache, the Ask chat history) live in your browser's localStorage rather than on our server. Clearing your browser storage will delete that data on this device.

Your rights

  • Access: view your data via the Dashboard / Settings.
  • Delete: the “Delete account” button in Settings removes your user record, syllabi, test history, and subscription record. This action is permanent.
  • Export: email support@vantage.app and we'll send you a JSON dump within 30 days.

Students under 13

Vantage is not directed at children under 13. If you're under 13, please don't create an account without a parent's permission.
